Film x TV - Job Round-Up! - 7/17/2024

Another week, another job roundup and some exciting updates! As always, this is a list of my personal favorites sourced from a variation of the following sites. You can and should do your due diligence research on these sites too!

And remember, the earlier you submit, the better your chances! And if you’re feeling really bold, it never hurts to shoot a shot and find someone on LINKEDIN at the company you really want to work at (lower levels). My suggestion would be to offer to buy them a coffee for a 5-10 minute phone chat! I like to send a $10 venmo to their number or ask their favorite coffee shop and send a gift card!

Business Focused:

  • LinkedIn (Best to go company by company)

  • UTA Job List (Monthly - last updated June 3rd)

  • Stage 32 (Free to sign up but it often seems to have more people offering their services or “programs”)

  • Entertainment Jobs on Jooble (all over the country!)

  • Entertainment Careers (semi-free but then paid for some “bigger jobs”)

More Prod Focused:

  • Production Hub

  • Staff Me Up

  • Showbiz Jobs

And at the completion of every month I’m going to open up the last month’s job roundup, so here is the full June 2024 job roundup list!

“Salaries” are always included here because I don’t want you to click any further if that amount won’t work for you and for full transparency when I can because i KNOW that these are WHACK wages/salaries. I also have a post coming out about my favorite *survival or thrival*** jobs. But as I find better ones, I’ll make sure to highlight those at the TOP of the lists! Currently they are going to be MOSTLY LA and categorized by:

  1. Internships

  2. Assistants & Entry

  3. Marketing & PR

  4. Production & Other

If there’s more specific niches you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll do some digging and ask around to my contacts! To me, the following jobs are from quality (as quality as they can be), vetted companies and opps that can give you a good birds eye-view of that sector of the industry and/or allow you to meet people who can guide you.

Internships:

Buchwald Paid Intern - $18 per hour

Legendary - still has SO many FALL 2024 internships open ($16-$18 per hour)

  1. People & Culture

  2. TV - Physical Production

  3. Unscripted Content

  4. Assets & Archives

  5. Features - Physical Production

  6. Franchise Management & Licensing

  7. Nerdist Editorial

SXSW Festival Intern - (Must be in Austin - $12 per hour)

Fabel - TV Development Intern - Unpaid but Remote!

Roadside Attractions Intern ($16.90 per hour)

DDO - Unpaid but remote opps - (2-3x per week)! They have offices in Chicago, LA and NYC so this could be great for someone who’s trying to break in in those areas.

  • DDO Fall Commercial Intern

  • DDO Fall Voiceover Intern

WhiteWater Films - Script Reader - UNPAID but REMOTE!

7/9/2024 Week

Disney - Entertainment Television Strategic Communications Intern, Fall 2024/Spring 2025 ($21.70 per hour)

Disney - Digital Production Intern, Fall 2024 ($35 per hour)

John Fogel Entertainment Group - Fall Intern - Development - only adding this because it says UNPAID but from the listing doesn’t seem to require it be for college credit and says it’s 1-2 projects a month as needed so could be good for someone who needs a non-college credit internship to get a little foot in but is okay with unpaid.

7/2/2024 Week:

NEON College Ambassador (very cool IMO! $17 per hour)

CNN Newsgathering - (this does note that credit is not required, it says it’s paid but not how much “competitive” is used so safe to assume $17-$23 an hour)

Broadway in Hollywood Marketing Intern (this says PAID without the amount - safe to assume $17-$23 an hour)

Emo Nite Intern (reposted - $17.27 - $18)

SO MANY UNPAID opps just came up on entertainmentcareers.net if anyone is interested in those!

Assistant & Entry:

NBCU Admin Assistant - Global Publicity (50-60K)

Verve Assistant - Talent Agent ($20-$22)

CAA is reposting a few jobs which means they still haven’t found the right person potentially.

CAA Entry Level Training Program($18-21)
